VOCATIONAL COURSES

Nserester Vocational Secondary School is a Mixed, Day and Boarding Secondary School offering both Arts and Science at O’Level and A‘Level. It is registered with the Ministry of Education and Sports and its Registration Number is PSS/N/93.  Its UNEB Centre Number is U1157.

For value addition, each learner takes a vocational course for job skilling. Vocational training equips students with the necessary practical experience and technical skills to cope with the working conditions. Some of the courses offered include:

·         Junior Certificate in Woodwork Technology,

·         Junior Certificate in Plumbing,

·         Junior Certificate in Automotive Mechanics,

·         Junior Certificate in Building Construction,

·         Junior Certificate in Electrical Installation Systems and Maintenance,

·         Junior Certificate in Fashion and Garment Design, and

·         Junior Certificate in Hotel Management and Institutional Catering.

Students are given a chance to take some of the above courses and are awarded Junior Certificates by UBTEB or Level One Certificate by DIT after they have completed senior three. They join senior four when they already have certificates for vocational courses to enable them to create jobs at that level. After they have completed senior four, the vocational certificates they already have will enable them to get jobs in some fields of work during their vacation.
